Story
The protagonist is a 22-year-old heir and future owner of the giant Ichinomiya corporation, Itinomy Co. At the very beginning of the film, the head of Ichinomiya Corporation and the father of the protagonist, Itaki Saki, entrusts his son with his first project to build a residential complex on the banks of the Arakawa River. Ko personally sent to inspect the land for the construction of a residential complex on the banks of the Arakawa River. He stops on a bridge over the Arakawa River and gets out of the car, as unknown persons attack him and rip off his pants. Trying to get the pants thrown by hooligans to the top of the bridge falls into the river. He will be saved by the mysterious stranger Nino, who tells him that she is from Venus and will fly home from Earth during the Tanabat celebration. Ko is at a loss from her statement, but since he lived his whole life according to family rule - never to be indebted to anyone, he wants to repay her debt for his salvation by offering apartments, cars, money, but she refuses everything, she only refuses everything one desire, she wants Ko to love her, and Ko, not wanting to deviate from the family rule, agrees. He has to live with Nino on the banks of the Arakawa River in an illegal settlement, which he himself wanted to demolish to build a residential complex after 3 months. The settlement consists of very strange personalities called " dumpa " in Japan. For example, some of them consider themselves birds or bees. The head of the settlement, who considers himself a kappa , gives each new member of the community a new name and our protagonist gets the name Riku short for “Recruit” (リ ク ル ー ト Rikuru: that). The settlement is self-sufficient and nobody lounges there: Pico grows vegetables, Maria a livestock breeder, who supplies the community with milk and eggs, Nino catches fish, the Star writes songs and music and plays on holidays, Bely collects cans and exchanges them for beer, Bili always fails from somewhere he gets rice, Jacqueline the chiropractor , The last samurai hairdresser, etc. In order not to be a parasite for the community and being a well and comprehensively educated person, he tries to help or teach the residents of the community different things if they ask him about it. As the story develops, Ko is imbued with sincere affection and friendship for this place and its strange people. Father Ko, head of the Ichinomiya corporation, Seki Ichinomiya, learning that his son is not doing anything, but simply having fun in the village, decides everything is in his hands and seeks permission to build. At the end of the film, Ko saves the village from demolition, convincing his father that the construction of a residential complex on the site of the village is unnecessary. Ko truly falls in love with Nino, but her time on Earth has run out, if she does not fly away now, she will never be able to return to Venus. Ko and Nino say goodbye and she flies home to Venus. The plot of the film is different from the plot of manga and anime. The main character in the film Ithinomy Co. lives with all the inhabitants in an illegal settlement on the Arakawa River, and not in the niche of one of the pillars of the bridge over the Arakawa River. In contrast to the manga and anime in the film, the bridge does not play such an important role in the plot and appear at the beginning of the film, only to set the plot.

Characters
Ko Itinomiya ( Jap. 市 ノ 宮 行 Itinomiya Ko:) is the main character. 22-year-old heir and future owner of the giant corporation Ichinomiya. He is a university student and received a better education, learned to play several instruments and earned a black belt in karate. All his life he lived by the family rule - never to be in debt to anyone. Almost drowning in the river, he started a relationship with his savior Nino, because this was the only way to get rid of debt for saving his life. The head of the illegal settlement on the Arakawa River gives each new member of the community a new name and our protagonist gets the name Riku short for “Recruit” (リ ク ル ー ト Rikuru: that). In order not to be a parasite for the community and being a well and comprehensively educated person, he tries to help or teach the residents of the community different things if they ask him. Because of his upbringing and the sudden intrusion into his life of the rules of life in the village, he is annoyed by meaningless events that everyone in the village considers normal.
Nino ( ニ ノ Nino ) is the main character. A mysterious girl who lives in a village on Arakawa. As a salvation fee, Ko asked to become her lover. It claims to be an alien from Venus. The origin of her name comes from a tracksuit that she always wears, on which there is a label “2-3” in Japanese sounds like (Ni-no-san). She is an incredible swimmer and can stay under water for a long time. With this skill, Nino usually fishes in the river, and her job in the village is to fish for the inhabitants. If she gets scared or angry, she will pull her tracksuit over her head and climb up the tree.
Chef ( Jap. 村長 Sontyo:) is the head of the community, the self-proclaimed 620-year-old kappa (despite the fact that he is clearly in a green kappa suit). Always dressed in a kappa costume and considers himself a kappa. The fact that his green skin is a suit is not paid attention by anyone except Ko. As a leader, anyone who wants to live in a village should get his approval and ask for a new name. He seems to have some kind of secret, and he protects Nino. He really understands that he is not really a kappa, and in times of seriousness, he will stop wearing his suit. He has a very large, shadowy influence on the Japanese government, as shown, when he, alone through the Minister of Land and Infrastructure, contributed to the suspension of Father Ko's plan to demolish the illegally settlement on Arakawa. He protects Nino very much.
Star ( Japanese 星 Hoshi , Seiyu ) is a 24-year-old singer and self-proclaimed superstar. He regularly holds concerts by the river, but the lyrics of his songs are mostly complete nonsense. He loves Nino and is jealous of her for Ko because of their relationship. Four years ago, he was a first-rate singer and was supposedly constantly on the Oricon chart, but was concerned about the fact that he could never compose his own songs. Struggling with this feeling, he met Nino and realized that what he wanted was music that he created on his own. His job is to provide music during special events in the village.
Sister ( シ ス タ ー Sisuta :) is a priest in the church of the Arakawa community. In the past, according to his own statement, he was a soldier and still remains an excellent fighter. A strong man who dresses like a nun. Twenty-nine years old, Englishman, Sister is a war veteran interested in artillery, and he always has a gun. He has a scar on the right side of his face whose origin is unknown. He cares about the well-being of Nino. Every Sunday he holds a mass, which usually lasts only a few seconds in the church under the bridge, and everyone present receives a bag of cookies. Oddly enough, although the Sister is dressed like a Catholic sister, his church is decorated with an Orthodox cross. Under his clothes is a bulletproof vest from his days as a soldier. He can still believe that he is in the middle of the war, because he is constantly setting mines and traps and always thinking in terms of military strategy. He is in love with Mary, whom he met during the last war in which they were enemies. He is good at making cookies and other sweets.
Stella ( ス テ ラ Suthera ) is a sister student who is in love with her teacher. The deadly fighter, however, is inferior to Mary in strength. Usually looks and behaves like a little girl. However, he has the habits of mafiosi, and sometimes speaks in a menacing tone to show his superiority. She considers herself the boss and sees the Steel Brothers as her subordinates.
Maria ( マ リ ア Maria ) is a breeder who runs a nearby farm, which supplies the community with milk and eggs. He has imperious and sadistic inclinations, cannot live without offending others. She looks down on men. An even more powerful fighter than Sister and Stella. She met Sister during the last war, she was his opponent, tried to get information from him.
Steel brothers ( 鉄 人 兄弟 Tetsujin Kyo: Dai ) are two brothers who are responsible for collecting firewood and a bath. According to their own statement, they have superpowers that allow them to fly and move in time. However, their powers are sealed with their iron masks. You can’t remove these masks, otherwise the brothers will be discovered by “people from the laboratory”.
White ( Japanese シ ロ Shiro ) is a person who always follows the white lines, which he himself draws, collects cans at the same time and exchanges them for beer. A 43-year-old man who is obsessed with the idea of always stepping on the white line (because he believes that his wife will turn into a white chicken, if he does not, what is he afraid of more than anything). According to him, he was obsessed with six years before the start of the series and since then has not seen his family. His real name is Toru Shirai (白 井 通), and before he settled in Arakawa, he was an office worker in a large corporation. He is married to a wife who understands his obsession and has a high school daughter. Despite the fact that his family lives in Hokkaido, he seems to be still very close to his family, who periodically sends letters to him. His name literally means "White."
Pico ( Japanese: P 子 Pico ) is a farmer, a young red-haired girl who grows vegetables, and supplies vegetables to the community. She is literally dangerously clumsy, often turning what should be a simple accident into a major catastrophe. Despite the setbacks, Pico is still seeking a driver’s license so she can travel further in the winter to collect seeds. He is categorically against this, and during the dispute, to his dismay, he learns that she already has a motorcycle license. She is in love with the Chef, but he does not know about her feelings. Her hair grows very fast and she needs to get a haircut every week.
Seki Ichinomiya ( 市 ノ 宮 積 Seki Ichinomiya ) is Ko's strict father, who adheres to the rules of the family and looks down on his son. Despite being very cold, he loves his son. Nino seems to remind him of his wife.
Terumasa Takai ( 高井 照 正 Terumasa Takai ) is the secretary of Co. His wife left him because of the constant work. Jealous when Ko next to Nino.
Shimazaki ( 島 崎 崎 Shimazaki ) is Takai's assistant. Although she is Takai's assistant, she takes orders directly from Seki Itinomi without Takai's knowledge.
The last Samurai ( Japanese ラ ス ト サ ム ラ イ Rasuto samurai ) is a typical samurai character who runs a hairdresser in the village, able to cut everyone’s hair in seconds. He comes from a samurai family, and the sword that he has was a legacy passed down from his ancestors. Before he began to live in the village, he was a famous hairdresser who won the hearts of all his female clients. He listened to all the comments of his female clients and felt that he was confused and lost in himself like a hairdresser. One night he went to the bridge to swing his sword, and suddenly met the Chef. After a short conversation, the samurai's blood boiled, and he regained confidence. He seems to be in love with Pico.
Billy ( (リ ー Biri:) - a man with a parrot’s head. He used to be a respected member of the Yakuza gang and enjoyed great respect and authority. He was close to one of the big bosses of the Yakuza gang and faithfully served him for many years. The boss instructed him to guard he didn’t trust his woman as much as Billy. However, Billy fell in love with his boss’s woman, tormented by the feeling that he had betrayed the boss, he told him everything and was ready to endure the traditional punishment in the yakuza world by chopping off part of his little finger, but the boss forbade him doing this saying that it’s barbarism and will only disgrace him like a boss. The boss said that he would forgive and let them both him and his former woman together if Billy would wear a parrot mask for the rest of his life, to which he agreed, and the former boss woman said that if Biliya is a parrot, she will become a queen bee. In a settlement on Arakawa, Billy is respected by everyone, they consider the real men. He seems to believe that he is really a bird.
Jacqueline ( Jap. ジ ャ ク リ ン ン Jakuri: n ) - a woman in a bee costume. Before she began to live in a settlement on Arakawa, she worked as a hostess , and then became a woman of the large boss of the Yakuza gang. She started a relationship with the boss-close Yakuza, who was Billy. In a settlement on Arakawa, she is engaged in chiropractic . She hated being with Billy for more than a few seconds, saying that she would die.
