Ben Shapiro ( Eng. Ben Shapiro , full name Benjamin Aaron Shapiro ( Eng. Benjamin Aaron Shapiro ); born January 15, 1984 ) is an American conservative political commentator, writer and lawyer. At seventeen, he became the youngest nationwide columnist in the United States Creators Syndicate [1] . He writes articles for Creators Syndicate and Newsweek . Founder and editor-in-chief of The Daily Wire , where the Ben Shapiro Show is hosted . Former Breitbart site editor.

Biography

Born in Los Angeles , California to a Jewish family who emigrated from Russia and Lithuania . Shapiro's parents both worked in Hollywood : mother - the head of the television company, and father - the composer [2] . At a young age, he began to play the violin and piano [3] . Shapiro's cousin is an American writer and actress Mara Wilson .

Skipping two classes (third and ninth), Shapiro moved from Walter Reed High School to Yeshiva University High School in Los Angeles, which he graduated in 2000 at the age of 16. He became a member of Phi Beta Kappa at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2004, at the age of 20, with a bachelor 's degree in humanities in political science, and then graduated with honors from Harvard Law School in 2007. He practiced law at Goodwin Procter . Since March 2012, he has been managing Benjamin Shapiro Legal Consulting , an independent law firm in Los Angeles.

Career

Shapiro became interested in politics at a young age. He started a nationwide syndicated column when he was 17 and wrote two books by 21.

In 2012, Shapiro became editor in chief of Breitbart News , a conservative site founded by . In March 2016, Shapiro resigned as chief editor of Breitbart News after what he described as a lack of support for reporter’s website in response to her alleged attack on , former campaign manager Donald Trump [4] . Following his departure, Breitbart published an article stating that “Ben Shapiro betrays the loyal readers of Breitbart in pursuit of Fox News, ” which was later removed [5] .

September 21, 2015 Shapiro founded the website The Daily Wire ; He is its chief editor, as well as the host of his political podcast, The Ben Shapiro Show , which is broadcast every weekday [6] . In 2018, Westwood One began broadcasting the Ben Shapiro Show on the radio [7] .

Shapiro often appeared in a video on PragerU [8] [9] [10] .

Often speaks on a number of campuses across the United States, presenting his conservative point of view on more controversial topics. From the beginning of 2016 to the end of 2017, he performed at 37 campuses [11] .
