History

The street has been mentioned since the 16th century. The earliest known name, according to the revision of 1563, is Cherevachitskaya. It was the western part of the road from Pinsk to Brest . The following historical name is connected with the direction to Brest, Brest. In 1921, when Kobrin was part of Poland, it was renamed Legion Street in honor of the formations of the Polish army. In 1934, it was named in memory of the murdered Polish Minister Bronislaw Peratsky . In 1939, after the incorporation of Western Belarus into the USSR, it was renamed to Soviet [1] .

Description

Sovetskaya Street runs west, starting from Freedom Square, from the intersection with Lenin Street . They adjoin it: from the north - Sportivnaya and Schorsa streets, from the south - Marshal Zhukov, Dzerzhinsky, Pushkin, Nikolaev and others. The street ends at the border of the city, passing onto the M1 motorway . House numbering - from Freedom Square.
