Traunviertel ( German: Traunviertel , lit. “Traun Quarter”) is a historical region of Austria [1] in the southern part of the Upper Austria land. It is one of four “quarters” - subregions of Upper Austria, the other three - Hausruckviertel, Mühlviertel and Innviertel . The name is associated with the river Traun , flowing through this area [2] [3] .
Region
The region consists of the Austrian political districts of Linz Land , Steyr Land , Kirchdorf , Gmunden , Steyr and parts of the city of Linz (south of the Danube River ).
