Vladimir Afanasevich Labush (born October 16, 1920 , in the village of Lyubomirka, Odessa region - died June 24, 1995 ) - an agronomist in the district agricultural department of the Kotovsky district of Odessa region. Hero of Socialist Labor (07/19/1951).

Biography

October 16, 1920 in the village of Lyubomirka in the family of a Ukrainian peasant Vladimir Labush was born. After graduating from school, he entered the Ananyevsky Agricultural College. At the end of college in 1940 he was drafted into the army.

Member of World War II. He fought in the 51st rifle regiment of the 93rd rifle division, a radio operator of a communications company. He was awarded the medal "For Courage".

In 1946 he returned home and began to work as an agronomist in the regional department of agriculture. He was constantly in the fields, controlled the process of growing crops. Already in 1950, in the territory for which he was responsible, a record crop of sugar beets was obtained [1] .

By a decree of July 19, 1951, Vladimir Labush was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the Order of Lenin and the Hammer and Sickle gold medal for overfulfilling the five-year plan for harvesting beets.

In July 1952 he entered the Leningrad Institute of Zoology and Phytopathology. After completing the training, he worked as an agronomist-entomologist at the Kotovskaya MTS. Then he worked as the head of beet plant, the head of the biological laboratory.

The last time he lived in Kotovsk. He died on June 24, 1995 .
