History
Pervomayskaya CHP was put into operation on March 30, 1957 .
Pervomayskaya CHPP was built at the site of the "first May Day" - a secret meeting of the St. Petersburg workers on May 5, 1891.
All station turbines were manufactured by the largest manufacturers of heavy engineering - the Leningrad Metal Plant and the Ural Turbine Plant. The boilers of the station were created by specialists of the Barnaul, Dorogobuzh and Taganrog plants. All equipment was put into operation in several stages from 1957 to 1973.
In 2007, the construction of a new power unit, consisting of two combined-cycle plants with a capacity of 180 megawatts, began at Pervomaiskaya CHPP. The main goal of the project was to replace obsolete equipment of the existing station.
In January 2012, two new power units of the Pervomaisk TPP as part of two CCGT-180 began supplying power to the energy market.
On November 5, 2015, a voltage drop occurred in the power supply system, the current frequency dropped to 48.5 Hz, because of which emergency protection tripped at the Pervomaiskaya CHPP. Power outages occurred in five districts.
On February 3, 2018, an accident occurred, as a result of which the power was cut off in 4 districts (Kirovsky, Krasnoselsky, Admiralteysky and Central), the emergency shutdown lasted from 30 minutes to 2 hours. 109 thousand people were disconnected. Also, because of the accident, the power supply to the boiler houses was cut off, as a result of which there was no hot water and heating. At the same time, a failure occurred at the Avtovskaya and Vasileostrovskaya TPPs, which caused electric vehicles to get up, metro problems, and partially reset the ZSD.
