The village is located in the south-eastern part of the Oryol region, in the forest-steppe zone [2] , within the central part of the Central Russian Upland , on the right bank of the Foshni River, at a distance of about 11 kilometers (in a straight line) to the north-east of the urban-type settlement Kolpny , administrative district center. The absolute height is 197 meters above sea level [3] .
The climate is characterized as temperate continental. The average January temperature is −8.5 ° C, the average July temperature is +18.5 ° C. Annual precipitation is 500-550 mm (average precipitation is 515 mm). The average annual air temperature is +4.6 ° C [2] .
