The Persian Trading Compound (a living room with shops by Aji Useinov) is an architectural and historical monument of the 19th century, a landmark of Astrakhan.

It was built by a wealthy Persian merchant, Aji Useynov, construction went from 1852 to 1863. The courtyard is a stone two-story guest house with mezzanines and a typical layout in the east in the form of a square with wide gates from the street.
Before the revolution of 1917 belonged to the heirs of Useinov. The street facades of the house overlooked three streets: Pochtovaya (now Chernyshevsky), Indian (now Volodarsky), Catherine (now Soviet). The upper floor housed apartments and rooms, the lower floor was occupied by shops, drinking establishments. In the basements were warehouses, utility rooms and stables. [1] According to legend, a passage to the Astrakhan Kremlin was dug from the basement of the courtyard.
In modern times, the courtyard was given the status of a monument of architecture of federal heritage, the house is used as a residential building. However, the building is in poor condition.
