Biography

October 29, 1931 in the village of Caravan was born Konstantin Avdeev. The family grew five children and he was the eldest. When Konstantin was ten years old his father died at the front. Not even finishing elementary school, he went to work to feed his family: mother, two sisters and two brothers. He was a shepherd of camels, on the collective farm he harvested hay, worked on a watermelon brigade.

In 1952 he was called up for military service. After serving three years, he returned to his native village. I went to work in the tractor brigade. However, the business of the breeder took its toll and Avdeev went to work on the farm. In 1956 he received a flock of young animals. At that time, sheep were not distributed in sheep breeding; the quality of the products produced suffered from this. Avdeev’s team was one of the first to start working with fine-fleeced sheep, from which you can cut wool three to four times more. Every year, the indicators for shearing wool grew. In 1964, Avdeev achieved high performance in work - 8 kg of wool per sheep. He was awarded the Bronze Medal of VDNH for success in the national economy of the USSR.

A year later, he achieved another high indicator - for every 100 ewes, the litter amounted to 110 lambs.

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 22, 1966, Konstantin Frolovich Avdeev was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the Order of Lenin and the Hammer and Sickle gold medal for achieving high rates in sheep husbandry.
