Biography

A. A. Petrovsky graduated from Snovskaya Secondary School in 1970 [1] and entered the Minsk Radio Engineering Institute (MRTI), where he graduated with honors in 1975 with a degree in Electronic Computing Machines [2] . He began his career at MRTI as a junior research fellow [3] . Then he worked as an assistant in the department of computers. In 1977, he began his postgraduate studies at MRTI and three years later defended his thesis under the leadership of Alexander Efimovich Leusenko . Over the next 9 years (1981-1990), he held the position of assistant professor of computer engineering [4] . In 1985, he took over the management of the research laboratory of real-time microprocessor systems (MRTI). In 1989 he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic “Construction of microprocessor systems for processing vibroacoustic processes in real time” (the defense took place at the G.E. Pukhov Institute of Modeling in Power Engineering, Kiev ). In 1990, he was elected head of the Department of Electronic Computing Tools of BSUIR , which he headed until 2017 [5] .

In 1983-1984 held an internship at Imperial College London (England). In 1994, he improved his qualifications at the Aachen Technical University (Germany). In 2000-2001 As a visiting professor, he worked at the University of Applied Sciences ( Mitweida , Germany). [ significance of fact? ]

Jobs in Poland

Professor Alexander Petrovsky worked at the Faculty of Computer Science of Bialystok Technical University (Poland) in 1991-2013. In 2000-2006, he headed the department of real-time systems. During his work at the Bialystok University of Technology, he created an authoritative research group recognized in Poland and Europe. Under his leadership, 8 PhD theses were defended [6] .

Titles and Positions

A. A. Petrovsky against the background of the developed digital system “UVS Vector”, awarded the silver medal of the All-Union Exhibition of Economic Achievements of the USSR in 1981

1991 awarded the academic title of professor [2] .

1995-2000 Chairman of the expert council of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus on the issue of informatics and management. [7]

2018, elected Honorary Professor of BSUIR [8]

Participation in international scientific organizations

Achievements

He has published over 300 scientific papers [12] [13] [14] [15] , including 5 monographs, 2 study guides, an electronics encyclopedia, 16 copyright certificates for inventions and articles in domestic and international publications. The Hirsch index is 13, according to the Google Academy [16] . A. Petrovsky prepared more than 20 candidates of technical sciences. The Nemiga school computer classroom developed by his laboratory in the late 1980s was put into serial production and for several years it was the basic computer class in secondary schools of the Republic of Belarus . [17] [18]

He made a significant contribution to the field of designing real-time problem-oriented computer aids for digital signal processing. [19]
