The elections in the Maldives to the People's Majlis were held on April 6, 2019 [1] . As a result, the Democratic Party won, receiving 65 out of 87 seats in parliament .

Electoral Law
The Majlis of the Maldives consists of 87 deputies elected in single-mandate constituencies through a majoritarian electoral system . [2] Before the 2019 election, the number of seats in parliament was increased from 85 to 87: two additional seats appeared in the capital Male [3] [4] .
