"The Bolshevik's weakness" is a novel by the Spanish writer Lorenzo Silva , written by him in 1995 and first published in 1997 [1] . The novel touches on the relationship between an adult man and a young girl, still a teenager (the plot of “ Lolita ” by V. Nabokov).

The novel became successful for the writer: with this work in the same 1997, Lorenzo Silva became the finalist of the Nadal Prize . The film adaptation, created by director Manuel Martin Cuenca in 2003, “The Bolshevik's Weakness” also testifies to the popularity of the work. The main role of Pablo was played by Louis Tosar , and the role of a teenage girl was played by Maria Valverde .
Edition in Russia
The novel was also seen in Russia - in 1999 it was translated by L. Sinyanskaya and published in the New World magazine under the title “Bolshevik Slack”: the first part in number 7 [2] , and the second, final part in number 8 [3] . A separate edition of the novel took place four years later - in 2003, the book was published by the Symposium Publishing House under the title "Bolshevik Syndrome" also translated by L. Sinyanskaya with a circulation of 5,000 copies [4] , [5] , [6] .
