He Qun ( Chinese 何 群 ; , - ) - Chinese director. Born in Nanjing , Jiangsu Province. In 1982, he graduated from the art department of the Beijing Film Academy with a bachelor's degree. In 1984, he became the art director of the war film “One and Eight,” thereby entering the cinema and television circle. In 1984, he became the art director of the Yellow Earth drama, and in 1987 he was nominated for the title of best art director of the 7th Hong Kong Film Award for the martial arts film Swords and Enemies. In 1988, he shot the debut film "Transfiguration."

The early years
He Qun was born in Nanjing , Jiangsu Province in 1955. Like many people of his generation, the cultural revolution influenced his fate. His father, an artist, was convicted and sent out of town to work as a welder for 6 years. In 1978, he entered the Beijing Film Academy at the Faculty of Art, which he graduated in 1982 with a bachelor's degree.
Career
At the beginning of his career, he was the artistic director, and worked on many films of the “Fifth Generation of Chinese Filmmakers”, such as the Grand Parade (1986, directed by Chen Kaihe) and Widow Village (1988, directed by Wang Jin). In 1988, he began his directorial career with the war film Rebellion. Since then, he began making films in various genres, for example, a gangster film (Forbidden Train of Convicts, 1989), comedy (Once Once Tricked, 1992), and a detective story (Vanished, 1992). In 1993, He Qun excelled in the rural drama "Country Teachers", 1993. In 1994, this film won the Golden Rooster National Award of the People's Republic of China in the Best Feature Film nomination.
Death
On December 31, 2016, at the age of 61, He Qun died of heart failure due to pneumonia. On January 4, 2017, a farewell ceremony was held with the director.
