Robert Alastair Hanny (born 1932) is an honorary professor at the University of Oslo [2] [3] . Included in the list of "One hundred living geniuses" according to the Daily Telegraph on October 28, 2007 .

Biography
He was educated in Edinburgh , where his early interest in philosophy was sparked by the work of John McMurray, and in London, where he studied with AJE and Bernard Williams . Hanny's book Public (2004) interprets a number of Kierkegaard's ideas in a modern political context and explores the role of the public in both the audience and the participant in the political process. Hanny is also a member of the Kierkegaard diaries and notebooks.
