Geography
The village is located in the eastern part of the Tambov region, in the forest-steppe zone, within the Oka-Don plain , on the right bank of the Olshanka River, at a distance of about 36 kilometers (in a straight line) to the north-west of the town of Kirsanov , the administrative center of the district.

History
According to 1926, there were 95 households and 460 people lived (215 men and 245 women). Administratively, the village was part of the Sokolov volost of the Kirsanovsky district of the Tambov province [3] .
