Sports career
He began his career as a goalkeeper in the club of the second division of the AMF “Kiruna”. At the age of 21, he moved to Skellefteå , in which he played from 1961 to 1966 in the first division, at that time the major league of the Swedish championship. Then he returned to the Kiruna. From 1969 to 1972 he played at Clemensnes HC, in the 1972/73 season he played for the club of the second division of CRIF.
For many years he was the second goalkeeper of the Swedish national team. From 1960 to 1965, he held 65 games in its composition. Winner of the World Hockey Championship in the USA (1962), after an injury to the main goalkeeper Chell Svensson, he joined the symbolic All Stars team as the best goalkeeper of the tournament; silver medalist of the world championship in Stockholm (1963). At the 1964 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck, he won a silver medal as part of the Swedish national team.
After completing his sports career in 1973, he worked as a social worker in the rehabilitation of alcohol and drug addicts. He co-authored the book “Heaven and Hell:“ My Way to Success and the Fight against Alcohol, ”which talks about his own struggle with alcohol and, in part, about his addiction to alcohol in Tre Krunur , when he spoke in its composition.
