Gao Yulan ( Chinese р 玉兰 , Pinyin : Gāo Yùlán ; born , ) is a Chinese rower who played for the Chinese rowing team from 2004-2012. . Silver medalist at the Beijing Summer Olympics , participant in many regattas of national and international importance.

Biography

Gao Yulan was born on October 3, 1982 in the Jiujiang Urban District of Jiangxi Province, China .

She made her debut at the adult international level in the 2004 season, when she joined the main team of the Chinese national team and performed at the World Cup in Lucerne, where she took the eighth place in the standings of the doubles.

In 2006, she attended the World Championships in Eton and finished in the fourth fours.

In 2007, in oar steeringless deuces she won the World Cup in Amsterdam.

Having won two stages of the 2008 World Cup, she successfully passed the selection for the Beijing Summer Home Olympic Games . Together with her companion, U Yu, in the women's double-handed doubles program, came to the finish line second, losing only to the crew from Romania in the decisive race - thereby winning a silver Olympic medal.

After the Beijing Olympics, Gao remained part of China's rowing team for another Olympic cycle and continued to take part in major international regattas. So, in 2011, she performed at the World Championships in Bled , where she took fourth place in the steering wheelless deuces.

Thanks to a series of successful performances, she was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the 2012 Olympic Games in London , but this time she could not get into the number of winners - in the program of wheelless twos she managed to qualify only for the comforting final B and was located in the final protocol of the competitions on the seventh line. Soon after the end of this season, she decided to end her sports career [1] .
