History
According to legend, the settlement was founded as a farm at the beginning of the XVIII century. the enterprising Alekseevsky peasant Kovalenkov (initials are not installed) "with the screwdriver Nagolinsky duct." The farm was populated mainly by residents of the Alekseyevka settlement. The name of the area - reeds overgrown with shores of the nearby lake and the Black Kalitva River. The river was full-flowing, a water mill acted on it.
Mentioned as the farm of Alekseevskaya patrimony of Count N.P.Sheremetev in the documents of the fifth revision of 1795
It is mentioned in the Memorial Book of the Voronezh Province for 1887 as the "settlement Kamyshevataya" of the Nagolensky volost of the Biryuchensky district. The number of residents of both sexes is 767, the number of yards is 118.

In the village there is a church of St. Tikhon of Zadonsk.
