Biography
Born in 1930 in the Mogilyov region of the Byelorussian SSR. Latvian.
From 1946 - a collective farmer, a collective farm “Nakotne” in the Jelgava district of the Latvian SSR. In 1948, the link led by him received a rye harvest of 30.3 centners per hectare over an area of 12 hectares. For this achievement, Artur Chiksta was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor by awarding the Order of Lenin and the Sickle and Hammer gold medal by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated April 30, 1949.
Member of the CPSU (b) / CPSU since 1950. After serving in the Soviet Army he graduated from an agricultural school, worked as an agronomist, from 1957 - chairman of a number of collective farms in the Dobele district. He graduated from the Higher Party School at the Central Committee of the CPSU. Since 1966 - the chairman of the collective farm "Nakotne" Jelgava district.
He was elected a deputy to the Supreme Soviet of the Latvian SSR of the 3rd, 4th and 11th convocations (member of the Credentials Committee), the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of the 9th and 10th convocations.
He died in Latvia on April 12, 1992. Buried at the cemetery in Roja .
