Biography
Louise Adelaide was born at the Hotel de Conti in Paris. She was the youngest surviving daughter of Prince Conti Francois Louis and his wife Maria Theresa de Bourbon . From birth, Louise Adelaide was known as Mademoiselle de la Roche-sur-Yon . Her elder sister was Maria Anna de Bourbon (1689-1720), the future princess of Conde; her eldest surviving brother was Louis Armand de Bourbon , the future Prince of Conti.
A year after her birth, Louis XIV made her father the title king of Poland, but later declined the offer because of his affection for Duchess de Bourbon , his mistress and daughter of the king. On February 16, 1707, Louise Adelaide was baptized in the Royal Chapel of Versailles ; she was named after Louis the Great Dauphin and Mary Adelaide , Duchess of Burgundy .
In 1709, Mademoiselle de la Roche-sur-Yon lost her father, and her brother became Prince Conti. In 1713, her elder sister, at the age of 24, married their maternal cousin Louis Henri, Duke de Bourbon .
Louise Adelaide was never married, although in 1748 her marriage with Stanislav I Leschinsky , the former king of Poland, was discussed [3] .
Rene Louis, Marquis d'Argenson, wrote in his memoirs: “Mademoiselle de la Roche-sur-Yon died of smallpox last night. She was a good princess and left many bastards. ”
After the death of her sister, Princess Condé in 1720, much to the disgust of Prince Condé Louise Adelaide, all her property was bequeathed.
In 1732, her mother died, having had time to reconcile with her children. Having survived her brother, sister and parents, Mademoiselle de la Roche-sur-Yon died at the age of 54 years in Paris, where she was buried.
