Valentin Andreevich Konchakov (1933-1993) - composer, music teacher, Honored Artist of the Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (1982). Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (1994, posthumous). Laureate of the 3rd prize of the All-Union competition dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the Victory over fascism (1990) [1] .

Biography
Born in the city of Engels in the Saratov region in the family of a military pilot and a nurse. In 1948-1951 studied at the school of military musicians in Sevastopol.
Since 1949, V. Konchakov is a cadet of the military brass band at the Higher School of Military Conductors in Moscow. In 1953-1957 studied at the Saratov School of Music in flute class. In 1962 he graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in flute and composer faculty.
From 1962 to 1969 he taught theoretical disciplines at the Frunze College of Music (1962-1969), wrote music for the films of the Kirghizfilm studio.
Since 1965, a teacher at the Musical Pedagogical Institute. Gnesins. He worked in cultural institutions of Ulan Bator [2]
Since 1970, he worked at the Petrozavodsk State Conservatory named after A.K. Glazunov and Petrozavodsk College of Music named after K. E. Rautio, as well as at the military-spiritual faculty of school number 37 in Petrozavodsk [3] . He is the author of symphonic, vocal and symphonic, chamber works, including on folklore themes - northern Russian, Vepsian and Karelian motifs, including Pudozhja’s Songs (1975), vocal cycles Five Songs of the White Sea (1977), “ Songs of Zaonezhye ”, symphonic poem“ Zaonezhie ”(1991) Member of the Union of Composers (1963).
