Biography
Born February 15, 1932 in Leningrad.
In 1955 he graduated from the 1st Leningrad Medical Institute . Until 1959 he worked as a psychiatrist, since 1959 he was engaged in scientific activities at the Scientific Research Institute named after V.M. Bekhterev .
In 1963 he defended his doctoral dissertation "Actual issues of the prevention of relapse in alcoholism", in 1965 - his doctoral dissertation "Theory and practice of collective therapy."
In medical work he used and developed methods of psychoanalysis, group psychotherapy, hypnotic therapy, etc.
In 1972 he moved to work at the Leningrad State University of Economics and Management as a professor in the Department of Psychiatry. Since 1975, he became a professor of a course of psychotherapy at the Department of Therapy No. 2 (head of the department, professor Yu.M. Gubachev), since 1982, he became a professor of the newly organized department of psychotherapy (head of the department, professor B.D. Karvasarsky ), since January 1989 years - head of the department of sexology organized by him, which he headed until 2000.
He died on July 16, 2007 in St. Petersburg.
