Eurovision
At the first Eurovision Song Contest in 1956, Assia performed the second. Only the winner was announced at the competition, so the rest of the participants are considered second place winners. She also represented Switzerland in the same competition ( seven countries performed 2 songs each ) with the song Refrain [1] , which became the winning song. Liz Assia also represented Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1957 and 1958 .
