Biography
From 1922 to 1926 he led several amateur music groups.
From 1926 to 1928 and from 1937 to 1942 he studied at the Yerevan Conservatory. He graduated from the conservatory in the class of an essay by Vardges Talian .
In 1927 he organized and until 1967 led the Ensemble of Folk Instruments of Television and Radio of the Armenian SSR (since 1967 named after Merangulian).
In 1931-1933 he taught at the Conservatory, then, for 7 years, at the Melikyan School of Music in the class of folk instruments.
In 1945 he was awarded the title Honored Artist of the Armenian SSR, in 1959 - People's Artist of the Armenian SSR.
