Witold Šalenek ( Polish: Witold Szalonek ; March 2, 1927 - October 12, 2001 ) - Polish composer and teacher.

Born in the town of Ciechowice-Dziedzice ( Silesian Voivodeship ). In 1956 he graduated from the State Higher Music School in Katowice . Since 1967 he taught at this school. In 1970-1974 he headed the department of theory and composition. In 1973 he was invited to the post of professor at the Higher School of the Arts in Berlin in the composition class.
V. Shalenek is the discoverer of “combined sounds” on woodwinds . Since 1970, he conducted seminars and courses on his own composer technique at higher educational institutions of Denmark , Germany , Finland , Poland and Slovakia .
