Asiocula lima

Asiocula lima (lat.) Is a species of extinct insects of the family Maguviopseidae ( Prosboloidea ) from the suborder of the cicadus order of the Hemoptera . The only species in the genus Asiocula . The oldest finds come from the Triassic of Asia (Madigen, Kyrgyzstan ) [1] .

Description

Length from 6.5 to 8.8 mm. Tegmen punctured, widest at 1/3 of its length, veins RP and RA not curved backward in distal part (stigmal cell lanceolate), vein branches M extending to vein root M. Basal cells absent; CuA vein diverges from CuP. Vein M 4–7-branched. Vein CuA2 2–3-branched. The species was first described by fingerprints in 2011 by Russian paleoentomologist Dmitry Shcherbakov ( Paleontological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences , Moscow , Russia ). Among sister taxa: † Falcarta , Cuanoma , Fasolinka , Krendelia , Maguviopsis , Nevicia , Nonescyta , Phyllotexta , Sacvoyagea , Sitechka [1] [2] .
