Falcarta bella

Falcarta bella (lat.) Is a species of extinct insects of the family Maguviopseidae ( Prosboloidea ) from the suborder of the cicadaidae of the hemiptera . The only species in the genus Falcarta . The oldest finds come from the Triassic of Asia (Madigen, Kyrgyzstan ) [1] .

Description

Length from 5.8 to 10.7 mm. Tegmen is punctured, widest at the middle of its length, veins RP and RA bent backwards in the distal part (crescent shaped stigmal cell), branches of vein M deflected backwards. Vein M 4-7-branched. Vein Pcu subparallel to CuP. Vein CuA2 usually simple, rarely 2-branched. The species was first described by prints in 2011 by the Russian paleoentomologist Dmitry Scherbakov ( Paleontological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences , Moscow , Russia ). Among sister taxa: † Asiocula , Cuanoma , Fasolinka , Krendelia , Maguviopsis , Nevicia , Nonescyta , Phyllotexta , Sacvoyagea , Sitechka [1] [2] .
