Malaysian woodpecker [1] ( lat. Yungipicus moluccensis ) is a species of birds from the woodpecker family [2] .

Description
A small woodpecker 11.5-12.5 cm long. Males have a red-orange crown, which is absent in females [3] .
Distributed in Brunei , Indonesia , Malaysia and Singapore [4] . They live in subtropical and tropical (plains and mountains), as well as mangrove forests. Yungipicus moluccensis often visits forests and parks in the urban area of Singapore.
IUCN has assigned a taxonomy status of “ Least Concern ” (LC) [4] .
