Description

Length up to 40-60 mm, not counting the tail thread. Representatives of the species have 8 eyes, three on the sides of the head and two in front. Moreover, the creature’s vision is weak. Like all telephones, they have a long tail thread.

Classification

Three subspecies of Mastigoproctus giganteus are distinguished:

  • Mastigoproctus giganteus giganteus (Lucas, 1835)
  • Mastigoproctus giganteus scabrosus (Pocock, 1902) - Mexico
  • Mastigoproctus giganteus mexicanus (Butler, 1872) - Mexico
