Achemyan, Gevork Vardgesovich

Achemyan, Gevork Vardgesovich ( Armenian Գևորգ Վարդգեսի Աճեմյան , March 5, 1923, Baku - April 9, 1998, Yerevan) - Armenian Soviet violinist and teacher. People's Artist of the Armenian SSR (1977).

Biography

In 1951 he graduated from the Yerevan Conservatory . From 1951 to 1998 he taught at the Yerevan School of Music. P.I. Tchaikovsky.

In 1958 he organized an ensemble of young violinists (since 1970 - violinists of the Armenian television and radio, since 1998, named after Achemyan) and became its artistic director. For the ensemble he translated works of Western European, Russian and Armenian composers.
