Geography
It is located east of the administrative center of the commune of the village of Obergurgig on the right bank of the Spree River.
Neighboring settlements: in the east - the city of Budesteci , in the south-west - the village of Male-Debsecy and in the west - the administrative center of the commune village of Obergurgig [2] .
History
First mentioned in 1437 under the name Dabeschicz [3] .
From 1936 to 1950 it was part of the Mönchswalde commune. Since 1950, it has been part of the modern commune Obergurgig [4] .
Currently, the village is part of the cultural and territorial autonomy of the “ Luzhitsky Settlement Region ”, on the territory of which there are legislative acts of the lands of Saxony and Brandenburg, contributing to the preservation of the Luzhitsky languages and the culture of Luzhic [5] [6] .

The official language in the village, in addition to German , is also Upper Luzhsky .
According to the statistical work “Dodawki k statisticy a etnografiji łužickich Serbow” by Arnost Muki, in 1884, 650 people lived in the village (535 of them were Serbluzhichans (82%)) [8] .
