Shahsevan ( azerb. Şahsevən ) is a village in the Shahsevan administrative-territorial district of the Agjabadi district of Azerbaijan .

Etymology
The name of the village comes from the ethnographic group of Shahsevens Azerbaijanis [1] .
History
In 1926, according to the administrative-territorial division of the Azerbaijan SSR, the village belonged to the dagger of Agjabeda of the Agdam district.
After the reform of administrative division and the abolition of counties in 1929, the Gyusyuli village council was formed in the Agjabadi district of the Azerbaijan SSR .
According to the administrative division of 1961, the village of Shahsevan was part of the Gyusyulinsky village council of the Agjabadi region of the Azerbaijan SSR [2] , but in the 1970s it was subordinated to the Muganli village council [3] .
In 1999, administrative reform was carried out in Azerbaijan and the Shahsevan municipality of the Agjabadi district was established within the Muganli administrative-territorial district [4] .
On December 14, 2004, a new one, Shakhsevansky, was allocated from the Muganli administrative-territorial district.
Geography
Shahsevan is located in the Karabakh steppe.
The village is located 45 km from the district center of Agjabadi and 325 km from Baku . The nearest railway station is Agdam (operating - Khalaj).
The village is located at an altitude of 95 meters above sea level.

The population is mainly engaged in cotton growing, grain growing and animal husbandry.
