The ear felt the touch of the sharp end of the mustache ... The heart beats, beats. At this moment, someone says: "Well done!" Steps rang out again. Pyotr Vasilievich lifts heavy eyelids from his perspective and sees the majestic figure of the receding emperor Nikolai Pavlovich . The case soon became known. The young artist was noticed, they began to invite him to give lessons to high-ranking houses. And he, so pleasant, modest, obligatory, began to make his Petersburg career as an artist, which ended with a long stay as a senior guardian of the imperial Hermitage. P.V. Tutukin died a deep old man, and who in those days did not know and did not like this sweet, completely gray-haired old man, gallantly shuffling his legs on the magnificent parquet floors of the Hermitage halls ...
