Biography
Shahrukh-Mirza Kajar was born on September 15, 1843 in the family of the former Governor-General of Azerbaijan Bahman Mirza Kajar from his marriage, according to family legend, with the Egyptian princess [2] Shahzade Khanum [3] . He was the fourth son of Bahman Mirza [4] . He was a Muslim by religion. He was brought up in the house of parents [5] .
Start of Service
By the highest order of June 18, 1866, the Persian Prince Shahrukh-Mirza was assigned to serve as a cornet for the army cavalry with the appointment of being a member of the Caucasian army [2] . On August 29, 1866, "to recognize the cavalry service," he was seconded to the 17th Dragoon Seversky E.V. King of the Danish Regiment. August 30, 1870 for the difference in service promoted to assigns [5] .
On April 5, 1872, the Kazachy E.V. regiment was transferred to the Life Guards as a cornet with seniority in rank from August 30, 1870. On November 16, 1872 he was temporarily seconded to the Khopersky cavalry regiment of the Kuban Cossack army , and on August 30, 1873, he was promoted to lieutenant guard. From September 29 to December 29, 1874 he was on a 3-month vacation abroad in Persia, in Tehran, however, due to illness, he did not return from the place of service from vacation, about which he presented the medical certificate of a physician of the Imperial mission. July 12, 1875 returned from vacation after recovery. On March 27, 1876, Shahrukh-Mirza was appointed commander of the 3rd hundred regiment. On May 9, 1877, he handed over a hundred and was sent to the disposal of the governor of Elizabeth, and the next day he was appointed commander of a separate Elizavetpol noble horse-irregular hundred. May 20, 1877 was sent with hundreds to the active corps on the Caucasian-Turkish border [5] .
Russian-Turkish War
Shahrukh-Mirza Kajar is a participant in the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878. From July 14 to November 7, 1877, as part of the troops of the active corps on the Caucasian-Turkish border, he took part in campaigns and campaigns against Turkey. So, on July 14, Shakhrukh-Mirza participated in the reconnaissance of the right flank of the enemy’s location on the Aladzhin heights near the ruins of Ani , on July 16, during the reconnaissance of the left flank of the enemy’s location near Vizinkev [6] .
On August 6, he took part in an intensified reconnaissance of the position of the Turks on the Aladzha Heights and in the battle on Mount Bolshaya Yagna, and from August 7 to 8, in night cavalry at the village of Bulanakh. On August 13, 1877, he participated in the battle near Mount Kizil-Tapa , on September 1, with intensive reconnaissance of the enemy’s location near the village of Jala and on Mount Inakh-Tepesi, and on September 20-22, in a battle with the Turkish army on the Aladzhinsky heights and near the Bolshaya and Malaya Yagna. From September 27 to October 2, Shahrukh-Mirza Kajar took part in a roundabout movement behind enemy lines from the Kamba post. On October 3, 1877, with the participation of the Kajar of the Turkish army, a defeat was inflicted on the Aladzhin Heights. From November 5 to 6, he took part in the assault and capture of the Kars fortress . During the campaign he was not wounded and shell-shocked [6] .
On October 20, 1877, for the difference in cases against the Turks, Shahrukh-Mirza Kajar was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir IV degree with swords and a bow. November 1, 1877 to disband hundreds was appointed to be a commander of the corps. On December 8, 1877, for the difference in cases against the Turks, he was promoted to headquarters captain of the guard. July 20, 1878 to disband the corps was appointed headquarters officer for special assignments under the commander of the Kars detachment. From August 10 to September 8, 1878, Shahrukh-Mirza was on a 28-day vacation, and on November 1, after the disbandment of the Kars detachment, he was appointed to be at the headquarters of the Caucasian Army [6] . On January 1, 1879 he was again seconded to the Khopersky equestrian Grand Duchess Anastasia Mikhailovna regiment of the Kuban Cossack army, where he was appointed commander of the 3rd hundred and head of the regiment’s division located on the Batumi cordon. November 2, 1879 "for the difference in cases against the Turks and the labor suffered during the war," Shahrukh-Mirza Kajar was awarded the Order of St. Stanislav II degree with swords established for Muslims [6] . In the Poltava Horse Regiment
On August 30, 1880 he was promoted to captain of the guard, and on November 18 of the same year he surrendered the 3rd hundred and was appointed her junior officer. On November 5, 1882, Shahrukh-Mirza was seconded to the 1st Poltava Horse Regiment of the Kuban Cossack Army , where he arrived on November 20, 1882. From September 9, 1883 to April 9, 1885, Shahrukh-Mirza was seconded to the commission of the Jebrail district "on horseback duty". On April 9, 1885, he was appointed junior officer of the 6th regiment, and on April 17 of the same year, he was appointed junior officer of the 2nd hundred regiment. According to the “List and Attestation of Persian Princes Serving in the Troops of the Caucasian Military District” compiled on March 16, 1886, the son of the Persian captain Shahrukh-Mirza was seconded to the 1st Poltava Horse Regiment of the Kuban Cossack Army and was an extra member of the Caucasian Military District His Majesty’s State and Life Guards Cossack Regiment [7] .
On April 1, 1890, Shakhrukh Mirza was appointed commander of the 4th hundred of the 1st Poltava cavalry regiment of the Kuban Cossack army, on April 21, 1891 he was promoted to colonel of the guard, and on May 1 of the same year he surrendered the 4th hundred regiment [7] . On October 3, 1892, he was granted the Persian Order of Leo and the Sun of the II degree (permission to accept and wear was given on November 5, 1892, which is noted in the January supplement of 1895 to the track record of January 1, 1890) [8] .
Further Service
On February 9, 1896, Shahrukh-Mirza was seconded to serve in the 1st Labinsky Regiment of the Kuban Cossack Army, and two days later arrived in the regiment. February 26, 1896 was awarded a silver medal in memory of the reign of Emperor Alexander III. July 28, 1897 was seconded from the regiment [8] .
On September 22, 1901, Shahrukh-Mirze was allowed to accept and wear the granted Persian Order of Leo and the Sun of the II degree on a red ribbon. December 6, 1907 was awarded the Order of St. Anne, II degree. On August 22, 1908, the emperor “according to the most submitted report of the Duma by the Chancellor of the Russian Imperial and Tsar’s orders, awarded to the colonel Prince Shakhrukh-Mirza, who was in the army of the Caucasus Military District above the state,“ a badge of honor of the immaculate service for 40 years on the St. George ribbon ”. On July 5, 1913, Shahrukh-Mirza Kajar was awarded a jubilee medal in memory of the 300th anniversary of the reign of the Romanov dynasty [8] .
Colonel Prince Shahrukh Mirza died on October 10, 1915 in the tract Jebrail of the Karjaginsky district of Elizabeth province, where he was buried. At this point, he was with the troops of the Caucasian Military District and was on the lists of the Life Guards of the Cossack Regiment [8] . On November 10, 1915, the widow of the late Farhanda-Khanum filed a petition for her retirement.
