Jae Monique Kinji Cross ( born Jae Monique Kingi-Cross ; born January 20, 1976 , Wellington , New Zealand ) is an Australian professional basketball player who has played for the Women's National Basketball Association and Women's National Basketball League . She was selected in the 2001 VNBA draft in the second round under the 22nd number by the Detroit Shock club. She played the role of an attacking defender . Three - time champion of the female NBL (1995, 1996, 1998). At the end of her sports career, she entered the coaching staff of the NCAA Rice Auls team. He currently works as the head coach of the St. Thomas Selts student team.
