The Bahrain Grand Prix of 2019 (officially the 2019 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix ) is the Formula 1 World Championship race , which took place on March 31, 2019 at the Bahrain International Circuit ^[1] . This is the second race of the season 2019 and the fifteenth according to the Bahrain Grand Prix in the framework of the “Formula 1”.

General Information

Before this, the grand prix of the standings was headed by Valtteri Bottas , who was eight points ahead of teammate Lewis Hamilton . Their Mercedes team, in turn, was 22 points ahead of Ferrari .

On the eve of the race, it was announced that an additional DRS zone would appear on the track. In addition to the DRS zones between the 15th and 1st turns and between the 10th and 11th turns, a zone between the 3rd and 4th turns will be added. It is expected that this will increase the number of overtaking and will increase the number of pit stops during the race ^[2] .
