Content
Etymology
The name comes from the Salmanbeyli clan from the Kebirli tribe [1] .
History
The village was founded in 1928.
After the reform of the administrative division and the abolition of counties in 1929, the Khojavend Village Council was formed in the Agjabadi district of the Azerbaijan SSR .
According to the administrative division of 1961 and 1977, the village of Salmanbeyli was part of the Khojavend Village Council of the Agjabadi District of the Azerbaijan SSR [2] [3] .
On October 5, 1999, a new one, Salmanbeylinsky, was allocated from the Khojavand administrative-territorial district.
In 1999, administrative reform was carried out in Azerbaijan and the Salmanbeyli municipality of the Agjabadi district was established within the Salmanbeyli administrative-territorial district [4] .
Geography
Salmanbeyli is located on the banks of the Ordzhonikidze Canal.
The village is located 12 km from the district center of Agjabadi and 288 km from Baku . The nearest railway station is Agdam (operating - Khalaj).
The village is located at an altitude of 55 meters above sea level.

Near the village is the Kalat-tepe mound, which contains historical and cultural monuments, the remains of civilization, covering the period from the Eneolithic to the Middle Ages.
