Description
Small chrysoidoid wasps. Length 3.0 mm. It differs from closely related species in the size of the protrochanter, which is 8–9 times longer than its width (in H. cretacicus it is less than 7 times longer); the size of the mesotrochanter, which is 3 times longer than its width (in H. magnificus it is 6 times longer); complete occipital keel (in H. shan it is incomplete and dorsally absent); trapezoid disk of the pronotum (in H. ligulatus the disk is triangular). Antennae 10-segmented. The mandibular palps consist of 6, and the labial palp consists of 3 segments. The males are unknown. Fore wing with three cells covered by pigmented veins (C, R and 1Cu). Females of this genus have a claw on their forelegs, presumably for holding cicadas ( Cicadomorpha , Fulgoroidea ). The species was first described in 2019 by paleoentomologists Eugene Perkovsky ( Schmalhausen Institute of Zoology , Ukraine ), Massimo Olmi (Tropical Entomology Research Center, Viterbo, Italy ), Patrick Muller ( Germany ) and Katerina Martynova ( Kiev ) [1] .
