The first ever sexual harassment case in American justice. In 1975, Louis Jenson was one of the first women to work at the Eveleth Mine in Minnesota. For nine years, she and other women were repeatedly harassed by male miners, who believed that women had a place in the kitchen. As Louis said, fear kept them silent, but the situation became unbearable and she filed a class action lawsuit in 1984. It took women years to get a lawsuit, and in 1998 finally win and get compensation from the company. This case has become a precedent for the US judicial system and the basis of the film " North Country ", where Charlize Theron starred
