Biography
Anisoara Belan was born on July 1, 1966 in the city of Liteni , Romania .
She first announced herself in rowing in 1983, winning a bronze medal in doubles at the junior world championship in France. A year later, at similar competitions in Sweden, she became a silver medalist in singles.
The first serious success at the adult international level was in the 1985 season, when she joined the main team of the Romanian national team and attended the World Championships in Hasevinkel , from where she brought the bronze dignity award won in the doubles standings - only the crews from the decisive final race passed ahead East Germany and the Soviet Union.
In 1986, at the world championship in Nottingham, she received silver in doubles.
At the 1987 World Cup in Copenhagen, she could not get into the number of winners, she showed the fourth result in the same discipline.
Thanks to a series of successful performances, she was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul . The double four-seater crew, which also included the rowers Anishoara Minya , Elisabet Lipe and Veronika Kojanu , came to the finish line third behind the teams from the German Democratic Republic and the USSR - thereby won the bronze Olympic medal.
After the Seoul Olympics, Dobre Belan remained in the Romanian rowing team for another Olympic cycle and continued to take part in major international regattas. So, in 1989, she performed at the World Championships in Bled , where she won the program of swing steering eights.
In 1991, at the World Championships in Vienna, she won a silver medal in doubles and a bronze medal in doubles.
Being among the leaders of the Romanian national team, I successfully passed the selection for the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona - this time, together with Doina Ignat , Constanta Burchiche and Veronika Kokelya finished second in doubles, losing only to the titled German rowers in the final, and thus added a track record silver olympic award. Soon after the end of these competitions, she decided to end her sports career.
Her elder sister Doina Schnep-Belan also achieved great success in rowing, is a three-time world champion, winner of silver and bronze medals of the Olympic Games [1] .
