Abay ( southern. Abay ^[2] ) is a village in the Amur rural settlement of the Ust-Koksinsky district of the Altai Republic of Russia .

History

Geography

Located in the border area of the south-western part of the Altai Republic in the mountain-steppe zone and is located near the Abay River. Street network consists of four geographical objects : st. Coast, st. Guerrilla, st. Soviet and st. Traktovaya. Approximately 15 km away is the village of Yustik .

National composition

According to the results of the 2002 census , in the national structure of the population, Altaians constituted 64%, Russians 34% of the total population of 436 ^[7]
