If he can resist killing, then such a person will receive superhuman strength. Such people are called " chrysalides ." Criticism
Critics have noted an unrelated plot that is difficult to follow. [12] [5] The action often switches between different events and storylines, which are not connected in any way. [5] In the anime, many additional storylines unfold, which are in no way connected with the main character. [5] [12] The eighth episode is generally knocked out of the narrative, as it presents two storylines that intersect at its end, but never turn out to be connected with anything else in the first season of the anime. [five]
The title character has very little time. He appears in the form of a baby only in the last frames of the first series. [12] The plot up to the fourth series focuses more on Marcus, which, it would seem, was done to introduce the viewer to the world of the work, but when the time comes for Guy to join Shoshidai, all the explanations begin anew. [5] Guy is essentially a typical teenager and anti-hero, but although such a type is popular Guy is devoid of traits that could make him attractive to the viewer. [12] [13] He is so full of youthful angst and nihilism so much that against his background Sasuke Utiha looks full of charisma and charm. [5] The stories of other characters, including some enemies, evoke more emotion. [12]
However, the very concept that only extremely perverted personalities can possess obsessed swords leads to the fact that the characters become misanthropic , constantly busy suppressing their desire to kill. [five]
The best moment of the anime, causing the most emotions, is the meeting of Seiya with his lover Kay in the seventh series. [5] [12] Since Seiya spent years in a cryogenic dream and did not grow old, while Kay lived an ordinary life, during this meeting he still remains young, and she is already in old age. And if at first it may seem that Kay is only indulging in the self-deception of the old woman, wanting to amuse her, then the character's prescription in this episode quickly makes obvious sincere love between them. [five]
In many ways, the anime recalls the series of the 1980s in terms of the amount of cruelty and violence, in particular with regard to women. [5] It feels a lot like Garo -Vanishing Line- , especially given the common creator, but unlike Garo in Sword Gai, violence makes no other sense than to look “cool.” [5] However, the anime just turns out to look good, although the image quality does not stand out, but the color schemes set the mood well, and fighting scenes can entertain. [12] The musical accompaniment is the strongest technical side of the anime, although the initial composition is easily forgotten. [13]
The last of the first season left more questions than answers. On the one hand, disparate storylines were finally tied together, although some remained forgotten. [12] But on the other hand, the plot does not receive any completion, it is not even an open end, the anime just stops. [5] [12]
The second season corrects some of the mistakes of the first, but at the same time continues and exacerbates the rest. [13] The most important achievement is a more integral plot - the characters interact more with each other and previously unconnected lines begin to intersect, forming an integral story. [13] However, this does not mean that the course of this story does not suffer from unexpected jerks, as if some of the scenes were cut out. [13]
Improving the plot did not make the main character more attractive, so the best scenes unfold again when he is not. None of the characters in the first part were lost or forgotten, having received a continuation of their story. [13]
The technical side of the anime still looks level, and some battle scenes are worth it to watch. Changing the color scheme to convey mood also works, while animation and design stand out neither in a bad nor in a good way. [13] Musical accompaniment still remains technically the most effective side of the anime. [13]
