History

The Ice Palace was built in Soviet times in 1977 thanks to the leadership of the Krasnoyarsk Metallurgical Plant . In addition to ice hockey players, skaters also practiced in this ice palace. It was home ice for the Krasnoyarsk “Falcon” until 2009 , when the roof of the palace collapsed and the building was recognized as an emergency [1] . Since it was the only covered ice in the city at that time, the young athletes - hockey players and figure skaters - were forced to go to the village Podgorny daily for training. In December 2012, the completely rebuilt Ice Palace was reopened [2] .

Commands

It was a home arena for Krasnoyarsk teams: “Falcon” , “Krasnoyarsk Lynxes” , “Biryusa” . Nowadays, children's and youth teams of the Sokol Sports School are engaged here.

Interesting Facts

  • It was here that two-time world champion Alexander Semin started his way in hockey.
  • The facade of the building is still decorated with the logo of "Falcon" , which is no longer used by the main team since 2015 .
