Biography
In 1884 he entered the service after receiving a home education. In 1887, after graduating from the Tver Cavalry School, he was promoted to cornet and released to the 39th Dragoon Regiment in Narva . In 1891 he was promoted to lieutenant , in 1893 to the staff captain , in 1899 to the captain , squadron commander of the Narva 39th Dragoon Regiment.
Since 1905, lieutenant colonel, squadron commander of the Tver Cavalry School . In 1910 he was promoted to colonel , headquarters officer of the Moscow 1st Life-Dragoon Regiment .
Since 1914, a participant in the First World War , the headquarters officer of the Glukhovsky 6th Dragoon Regiment . By the highest order of November 8, 1914, he was awarded the St. George Arms for courage:
