Life
Friedrich Casimir was born in Zweibrucken in 1585 and was the second son of Johann I of Zweibrucken and Magdalena from Julich-Cleve-Berg [1] . After the death of his father in 1604, Friedrich Casimir and his brothers divided its territory; Friedrich Casimir gained territory around Landsberg in Alsace [1] .
In 1611, the orders of his deceased father in favor of his younger sons were finally executed: their older brother Johann II granted Friedrich Casimir Landsberg and his brother Johann Casimir Neukastel. At the same time, he left himself most of the Palatinate-Zweibrucken [1] .
In 1616, he married Emilia Antwerpian of Orange of Nassau , daughter of William the Silent . The couple had three sons:
- Friedrich (1617), died a day after birth
- Friedrich Ludwig (1619–1681), from 1645 he was married to Maria Magdalen of the Palatinate-Zweibrucken (1621–1672), daughter of the Palatine Johann II of Zweibrucken
- Karl Heinrich (1622-1623), died in childhood
Friedrich Casimir died in Montfort-en-Oxoix in 1645 and was buried in Alexanderkirch in Zweibrucken.
