Life
Christian was born in Bischweiler in 1637 and was the eldest surviving son of Christian I, the Palatinate and Duke of Birkenfeld-Bischweiler . After the death of his father in 1654, he succeeded his father and began to rule the territories around Bischweiler. In 1671, he inherited the Palatinate-Zweibrucken-Birkenfeld from his cousin Charles II Otto . Thanks to his wife’s inheritance, he was also Earl of Rappolstein from 1673 until he transferred this title to his son Christian III.
Children
In 1667, Christian married Catherine Agatha of Rappolstein (1648–1683). They had seven children [2] :
