Biography
Anka Bakova was born on February 22, 1957 in Perushtitsa, Plovdiv Province , Bulgaria .
The first serious success at the adult international level was achieved in the 1977 season, when she joined the main team of the Bulgarian national team and visited the World Championships in Amsterdam , from where she brought the bronze dignity award won in the standings of the pair of steering fours - only teams from the East passed in the final Germany and Romania.
In 1978, at the world championship in Karapiro won a victory in the four fours with a steering.
At the 1979 World Championships, Bled in the same discipline became a silver medalist, losing at the finish line to the titled East German athletes.
Thanks to a series of successful performances, she won the right to defend the country's honor at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow - as part of a four-seater crewed couple , which also included rowers from Mariana Serbezova , Dolores Nakova , Rumelyan Boncheva and helmsman Anka Georgieva , in the final final race came to the third finish behind the crews from the GDR and the USSR - thereby winning the bronze Olympic medal.
After the Moscow Olympics, Bakov remained for some time in the rowing team of Bulgaria and continued to take part in major international regattas.
