Biography
Lilyana Vaseva was born on August 12, 1955.
She made her debut in the international arena in 1973, showing the sixth result in doubles four at the European Championships in Moscow.
The first serious success at the adult international level was in the 1975 season, when she joined the main team of the Bulgarian national team and attended the World Championships in Nottingham , from where she brought the silver dignity, won in the offset of the oar steering fours - only the team from the German Democratic Republic passed ahead .
Thanks to a series of successful performances, she was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal - as part of a four-seater steering crew, which also included rowers Mariika Modeva , Reni Yordanova , Ginka Gurova and steering Kapka Georgieva , in the decisive final race she came to the finish line second, losing a little more than three seconds to a team from East Germany, and thereby won a silver Olympic medal.
After the Montreal Olympics, Vaseva no longer showed any significant results in rowing.
