Biography

Together with satirist Vardan Petrosyan, he founded a comedy theater studio called “Wozniner” (Hedgehogs), the first Armenian private youth theater. Sahakyan is the author of numerous articles, short stories, novels, plays and scripts for films. His literature is notable for its free use of vocabulary, including street curses, elements of cynicism and the genre of tragicomedy. Actively collaborates with the director Arthur Sahakyan, producer Armen Hambardzumyan, actors Hrant Tokhatyan and Samson Stepanyan [2] .

Known for his active citizenship: condemns the law on the use of euthanasia for terminally ill children, the idea of cloning and abortion, but does not object to organ donation in case of death [3] . He has repeatedly criticized politicians and officials, arranging symbolic protests from the desire to leave the country because of threats in 2009 [4] to breaking the passport before the National Assembly of Armenia in 2012 [5] . Nevertheless, he believes that the negative phenomena in the world are “the embodiment and result of specifically” someone’s guilt of a person, and not just the negative actions of politicians [2] .

On July 5, 2017, he was beaten by unknown persons [6] .
