History

1980s

The group was founded in 1986. In the fall of this year, the initial composition of the team is formed: Andrey Barkov, Arkady Golovin, Nikolai Dizendorf. During this period, "Closed Enterprise" begins work on the first album "Commandant's Office" [1] .

In December 1986, Igor “Bukh” Oleshkevich joined them, but already in the summer he left to the Putti group [2] .

In April 1987, the group performed at the I festival of the Novosibirsk Rock Club, after which it immediately became part of it. At the same time, work was completed on the first album, the magnetic version of which was released in a small edition [1] .

In the fall of 1987, the team became part of Studio 8 [1] .

In 1988, the Closed Enterprise participated in the Irkutsk Rock Festival and took first place. At this time, the drummer Renat Vakhidov came to the group, playing in such groups as "Homeless", "Techniques of Light", " Industrial Architecture " and "Male Dance" [1] .

In 1988, the group completed the second album "Design" and, in addition, was shot on television in Novosibirsk. The clip “I owe no one” was not allowed to the show, as it was considered ideologically dangerous [1] .

In the winter period from 1988 to 1989, the Closed Enterprise recorded three songs together with Janka Diaghileva at its rehearsal base. Then the group begins to work on new songs, some of which will then be included in their future 1989 album [1] .

In mid-1989, a new composition was organized: Arkady Golovin, Sergey Exuzyan, Alexander Zhukovsky. For some time, keyboardist Galina Klimkovich worked with the team, with her musicians record the album “Summer in Washington” [1] .

In the fall of 1989, the team participated in the festival "Next Stop Rock'n'Roll - 89", organized by Sergey Bugaev [1] .

1990s

In 1990, the Closed Enterprise, together with Moscow Technologiya, went on a commercial tour as groups to “warm up”. She was chosen because by that time she was one of the most professional Siberian groups of the “new wave” [1] .

In 1991, a telecast was shot on Leningrad television about a direction that was only beginning to emerge in Russia - electronic music. Together with Natalya Vetlitskaya , Igor Seliverstov and the Technology, Arrival, and Stag groups, the musicians of the Closed Enterprise also took part in the shootings [1] .

In the early 1990s, the musical activity of the group was at the peak of the wave, but by 1992-1993 the members of the group were losing interest in their own work. One of the reasons for the decline in creative activity was perhaps the rejection by musicians of the new standards of commercial music. The team continues to give rare concerts in Novosibirsk and the region, the last of which was held at the Rest club on Christmas Eve 1994 [1] .

Musical Features

Initially, there was a guitar sound in the works of The Closed Enterprise, but in the albums Inflation and Summer in Washington, the synthesizer completely replaced it [1] .

The musicians actively used the capabilities of the drum machine and sound processor, thanks to which they were able to give each song its own individual look. Great emphasis is placed on the rhythmic component [1] .

The music of the group has a “hypnotic” effect on the listener due to repeated repetitions of melodic turns [1] .

A state similar to trance is enhanced by rhythmic ostinato percussion, which is most often sustained throughout the composition [1] .

The vocal manner of performance is also specific: a nasal timbre, sharp transitions between text chanting and singing, which at times develops into a piercing scream [1] .

Lyrics - a specific allegorical language, often repeated individual words, phrases, present in almost all the work of the team [1] .

Most often, the collective’s songs are devoted to social topics, love and loneliness [1] .
